Opoutere Farmhouse is a short walk from the beautiful, golden sands of one of New Zealand’s best kept secrets, Opoutere Beach. Over 4 kms of beautiful soft sand, Opoutere Beach is one of the Coromandel’s finest.
The shade of the pine forest makes the perfect spot for a wedding ceremony, with beautiful lighting and acoustics for the ceremony and photos.
This was the perfect venue for our magical wedding! It was so simple having accommodation and the reception venue onsite, and plenty of our guests decided to stay in the campground right next door. There are also so many different locations for the ceremony and photos – forest, beach, farmland, barn… this venue has it all! ~ Becca
The Venue
A tranquil 10 minute walk from the beach, guests of Opoutere Farmhouse have full usage of the 6 bedroom house, 5 acres of peaceful and private grounds including 12m swimming pool, outside fireplace and tennis court.
The 9 x 16m converted shed on the property provides a weatherproof option for your celebration or alternatively the large, flat and sheltered lawn is perfect for a marquee if you choose.
Opoutere is a 2 hour drive from Auckland and Hamilton and 1.5 hours from Tauranga. Only 15 minutes drive from popular Whangamata, a decent coffee and other supplies are close by.
Your Day, Your Way
Guests select and book their own furniture, food, staffing and beverages. We have a list of recommended suppliers should you wish.
This includes the Farmhouse that sleeps 14, the shed, and grounds for 3 nights and security. Post event cleaning charged at cost.
The Farmhouse
The farmhouse has six generous bedrooms, sleeping up to fourteen, so has plenty of room for the wedding party to stay on site and get ready on the day. And with a pool, tennis court, and outdoor fireplace it's the perfect place to relax on the day after.
I can’t imagine a more perfect place to have a wedding. Opoutere is pure magic. We had our wedding at the farmhouse in February 2023 and couldn’t recommend it more. From the ceremony in the forest, canapés on the lawn with a marquee, dinner in the barn and a disco night in the garage. Our guests loved celebrating with us – with many of them commenting on how incredible the location was. The venue was ideal and Kaz was the perfect host – organised, excellent communication but also allowed us the creative reign to plan our day how we wanted. I am so grateful we could have our celebration at this beautiful location – it really was the best day of our lives. ~ Emily
